mmm, not sure this is best place but the most relevant I could think of! I have an original artwork that I'd like to sell. I bought it 3 years ago for a wedding present but it didn't get given in the end, the artist is very sought after and it sold out upon release, where on earth do I go about selling it? I don't want to do the whole Ebay thing as its too risky!

Commenting because I would like to do the same thing. I think one idea is to contact the artist or their agent. They might be willing to buy it back from you, particularly if prices have gone up.

Auction house? They should also be able to give you an estimate of price you could achieve and the costs involved.

I never thought of an auction house because it's a modern piece! I think the value has tripled but I mainly just don't want to get ripped off hence avoiding EBay!
NotAPenguin I'd yours a modern piece?

Any chance of a photo? I love seeing other people's art. I buy mine from scotlandart.com but don't know if they do resales. You'll usually find that each artist has a favoured gallery who sell their work. Would be worth getting in touch with them.

Yes, mine is modern. A cow painting by John Marshall. A friend told me that they have gone up in value but googling I realise that he's only selling for a bit more than I paid so I probably wouldn't get my money back. But could buy something to replace it.

Thanks! If only I had a modern house....Wink

I would have a look at www.urbanartassociation.com
There are selling boards on there and a lot of Penny fans
