Looking for some inspiration - toddler girl bedroom

My dd is over 2.5 now and her room is becoming less of a nursery and more of a proper bedroom.

She's still in a cot bed but the bars are off, the big feeding chair is gone and I really want to re do the room and give her a lovely space that will suit her for the next few years.

She's quite girly so definitely going down the pink route but would love to see what others have done for inspiration.

Her room isn't huge and between her cot bed and large drawers I don't have a lot of room for other furniture although I do have a cheap storage unit - similar to the ikea kallax but smaller/not as deep and her toy kitchen/fridge against one wall. She also has a built in mirrored wardrobe that could probably accommodate more if I was better at organising it.

Part of the issue is she has so much stuff. Her teddies are all on top of the drawers, she's got lego bricks tucked in corners etc and I don't want to hide it all away where it's forgotten about.

Would love to see what others have done with smallish spaces for toddler girls as I'm not particularly creative at all!

I would really recommend decluttering if at all.possible... today I got dd' s 30 or so cuddlies and asked her to choose her favourites. She chose 5 or 6 and the rest went into the loft! She's 3 btw.

We've just refurbished her room and I can take pics tomorrow if helpful. It's in green with a peacock blue chimney breast and looks fab. She loves pink but I've tried to bring that in with pink accessories and curtains etc. We're lucky enough to have a playroom so their bedrooms stay relatively toy free. We've got the Ikea stuva range in ds (box) room and the desk in particular has been a hit.

Thanks @misty9

I'd love to see any pictures you have - I sorely lack creativity!

Decluttering is a must - need to tackle it while she's preoccupied elsewhere!

I would avoid going for pink furniture if possible as it may not grow with her. If she likes her stuff pink then it will still be quite a pink room without investing in pink furniture! Pink bedding, pink fairy lights, pink lamp, pink rug etc. equals still a very pink room but easier to replace in the future.

Yy to decluttering and paring the toys right back, you'll be surprised by what won't be missed and it creates a more calming environment. If you are loathe to get rid of the toys and have loft space, do as Misty suggested and store away - you can then either rotate or get rid if they really aren't missed!

I think frames look nice in kids rooms - we've got a few of DD's best drawings, choice birthday cards, postcards and pictures DD has received over the years in a small cluster of frames on the wall.

Wall stickers are also great to add colour and again, are replaceable inexpensively as tastes change. We've got the pictured one in DD's room.

A nice light green goes well with pink bedding, fairly lights etc. So still quite girly but not too wedded to pink? I really like the ikea stuvya furniture as it's flexible. We had lots of low units when DS was small, and when he got older we put the more shallow units on top of the deeper ones, changed doors, added drawers etc. We've really been able to give it a new lease of life as he's grown without forking out for completely new furniture. I think they do pink doors (good for the deeper units as you can hide stuff away). I'd recommend avoiding buying a toddler sized wardrobe if that's in your plans - they grow out of them so quickly!

This is a great wee link to have a very pared down selection of all the playthings a child needs in a bedroom or play space. It basically fits in a small bookcase or other simple storage unit. Other stuff can be stored away and rotated.

Sorry! Completely forgot again and she's in bed now. Will definitely try to remember photos tomorrow :)
