Large sets of children's metal cutlery?

Our DCs are 2 and 4 and can't quite manage adult cutlery yet, but use up all our cute/matching sets, that only come in packs of 3 or 2, within half a day. Mainly by throwing on the floor/dropping I suspect.
Is there anywhere that has child sized metal cutlery in proper amounts - they need at least as many as we have, not 2 pairs each!
We have some hand me down Ikea plastic ones but I think they need metal now, especially as DC1 can't really manage cutting and needs to practice.

I bought a set of 36 from eBay for about £12.

We just had several sets of this. Cheap enough to have a few sets. Handy for lunch boxes now.

Lakeland do a knife/fork/spoon/teaspoon set for about £5. I bought six sets a few weeks ago and am really pleased. The knife has a decent serrated edge so you can cut with it quite well, they are solid & a good weight, they are a good size for my 7yo & 4yo.
It was a lot of money but we were out for Sunday lunch a few weeks ago and I was appalled at my children's lack of cutlery skills. In a nice restaurant, it seemed more apparent than when at home.

It seems a bit of a racket to charge the same practically for a four piece kids set as a 20 piece adult set!
I'll have to stalk eBay for larger sets I think!

What about getting adult cake forks, butter knives, and dessert spoons? Basically smaller than main meal adult cutlery.

@notcitrus great idea. Our dc use the cake forks and butter knives that we were given as a wedding present and they are perfect.

Sold alone those also seem quite pricey! It probably works if you have a very large set and hardly ever use the smaller ones though.

You can get decent sized sets of butter knives on their own though.

It just seems daft how much more expensive they are.

For example a set of 16 pieces for £10.99 for adults.

But just a fork and spoon for children is £4.79.

I got dessert forks and knives from John Lewis, agree it's expensive but at least you don't end up with loads of spoons which are not needed as a teaspoon is fjne. They have been great. I got 6 of each for my 3yo twins.

Where do the ones you have go when you've 'used them up' Can't you just wash them?

We use Ikea Dragon cutlery, and bought a set of the "dessert" size, knives, forks and spoons. They were just right for kids graduating from mini/plastic cutlery, and still useful when they move on to adult size. About £15 for the set of six knoves/forks/spoons. www.ikea.com/gb/en/collections/dragon/
