Can't decide on roller or venetian blind for kitchen. What do you have?

Need to be able to block bright sun out at certain times of day but still like to be able to see out at other times.
What type of blind do others have in the kitchen? Any recommendations for buying online? Thanks

Venetian blind in kitchen = grease trap. You can get magic blinds which block UV rays, but you can still see out.

Wooden Venetians. Yes, they are a bit of a dust/grease trap and are a bitch to clean but look so pretty both inside and from the outside view. I'm about to redecorate and considering them again because I just don't like the look of a roller blind as much

Agree venetians are a nightmare in a kitchen. We've got coloured vertical blinds. Still see the garden but able to angle them to reduce sun if required!!
At first thought they looked a bit 'officey' but have to say they blend in really well as we got them in a co-ordinating tile colour.

Grease gets into fabric blinds but you just can't see it.
We have wooden venetians. Block out the sun better than fabric IMO

We are going for roller blinds. Most of the fabric is protected by other fabric that way. The magic roller blinds that have striped opaque and see-through sections might suit you. I've gone for fully opaque, thermal wipeable ones - I like my privacy after dark!

Why do you need to block out the light? Not goady but I bet you don't need to...

I just want to be able to get some shade from the sun as on hot days (not many I know) the kitchen becomes like a sauna when cooking. It's only a small kitchen so with the sun beating in & the oven on it can get uncomfortable in there even with window open as the glare is very bright.

We've got a venetian blind, it is much more versatile than a roller. it can be pulled up totally, or down but the slats slanted to keep the sun out. And if the window is open the air can still circulate through the slats.

I'm thinking about having Roman blinds...... I had venetians previously but they're a sod to clean and I imagine roller blinds would get very grubby?

To clean, put on a pair of cotton gloves (from boots) that are soaked in diluted washing liquid/powder & just run your hand over the individual slats.

I've got wooden venetian blinds in the kitchen. They look lovely but are an absolute bugger to clean.

Roller. I have Venetian in my living room and they're a PIA to clean

Got rid of all venetians.
Two rollers in the kitchen...cheap as chips from Home base.
Rigid Plastic Verticals everywhere else. No cleaning involved.

My venetians are metallic, I was worried about cleaning wooden blinds in the kitchen.
