What to do with all these interior design magazines???

I've got loads of interior design mags but really need to get rid of them. BUT - I feel I would be throwing away all of the ideas in them.

What to do with them? Not sure i can just tear out stuff I like because my taste changes every time... And what would I do with the bits of paper?!

Should I write a huge list of the suppliers I like so I can search them online if and when I'm after fresh ideas?

Should I subscribe to the magazine online versions?

Ideas welcome!

Photograph your favourite bits and then upload to a Pinterest page?

Had considered that, but then decided I couldn't be arsed!

I think I'm leaning towards just chucking the bloody things! Grin

Can you donate them to your local college / uni that runs interior design or architecture courses? Students have to put together mood boards, designer briefs and portfolios and your magazines would be very well received.

Give them to a primary school? Chn sometimes need pics for projects

I'm old school - I tear out the relevant pages and keep them in 5 plastic folders (kitchen, bathroom, living room, bedrooms, other). Every couple of years I go through them, realise I haven't used them at all, chuck the lot and start again Grin

My dd uses them as starting points for designs for textiles, so yes offer them to schools or colleges doing textiles, product design etc

Could you scan the pages with the ideas/designs that you like and keep the scans in a folder. Then you could pass on the magazines intact.

Bin. Just use Pinterest.

i tear out the pages i like. i'm very fussy so usually it's only one or two per mag max. do have a box folder of them that i never look at.

I would agree with those who suggested to donate it to schools. More people there will find very helpful. Perhaps you can visit anytime you want to check out those magazines. If not, there are many free guides and advice in the internet nowadays.

When I had a bunch after a bathroom redesign was finished I Freecycled them - someone else about to start their own project was very grateful.

Chuck em in the recycling.
Save some trees, get yourself some space.
I did this with my beloved gardening magazines last year and haven't missed them at all.

Sadly everything is on pinterest and Google now and we don't bother picking up an actual magazine or book any more.

We might live to regret it come the zombie apocalypse but I think interior design will be the last thing on our minds then.
