Corian work tops in new kitchen

I'm having a new kitchen. It's going to be white shiney units and a white worktop. The worktops are quite long so we've been advised to have Corian because it's seamless. We had originally decided on Quartz. I've heard Corian can stain quite easily. Can anyone help?

First of all what are the measurements for the long worktop? Quartz worktops on a single length can go up to 3 metres which is incredibly long. Corian is a great, hard wearing worktop (which is why the NHS uses it throughout their hospitals) but like all worktops they do require some care and attention.

Quartz and Corian both will stain and scratch if the right precautions are not taken, stains are created if acidic or oily foods/liquids are left on the surface for too long but you'll find that with any worktop, even the indestructible laminates too.

Corian can get quite expensive too so if I were you I'd get some prices for both materials before you commit to Corian. If you've got a length longer than 3 metres then you can still use Quartz but the joins will have to be placed around the sink area, which any decent mason out there will be able to design and complete easily.
