We really need new curtains for our living room. This winter the ones we have, haven't kept the cold out at all (even with double glazed windows). I'd like to invest in a good pair, they need to be neutral in colour, a good length (300cm drop) and tab top preferably.

There is also a smaller window in the living room that I'd like to get a warm blind for (if such thing is possible).

Thanks

I think to get really thick curtains you'll have to get them professionally made or do it yourself (really not that hard). Shop bought ones just aren't that thick. I have had some success buying ready made ones then sewing thermal lining to them.

Tab top won't be as good as pencil pleat at keeping out the cold IMHO.

These people, thermal blinds make made to measure thermal blinds that sound very warm. I haven't used them though. I got a quote for making some blinds for my house but the cost was prohibitive (£300 per window for windows that are around 60cm wide, and I needed 4).

The John Lewis made to measure curtains are brilliant - very thick and good quality, weighted and lined.

Laura Ashley made to measure. Thermal interlining. The bees knees.

Hi, I'm making the thermal blinds at the bottom of the garden in my She Shed. They will last you years as I use the best materials but sadly they do take a long time so they can be expensive (75cm x 100cm is £169, 60cm x 200cm is £285). I now give a discount for more than 4 so do get back to me FunMitFlags.
