Bodbyn grey Ikea kitchen - paint suggestions needed!

My shiny new Ikea kitchen in Bodbyn grey is turning up tomorrow and I'm scuppered as to a good paint choice for the walls. Any suggestions wise ones?

I've got some glass fronted cabinets and a lightish wooden worktop.

Also floor suggestions would be brilliant! It isn't a massive kitchen but Victorian so nice high ceilings and two little windows.

In all the display photos of that kitchen they have 'subway' tiles with grey grout which I like the look of but after reading the 'what's the new avocado bathroom' thread I'm a bit scared that it may look dated really quickly!

Any suggestions really appreciated

Do you want subtle colours or bold? I wouldn't worry about tiles dating - everything dates so go with what you like now. You don't have to tile everywhere anyway so, if only tile behind the cooker or sink, it's relatively affordable to change later

Thanks swedish. Subtle I think, don't know if a grey toned off white would just be too cold?

Grey is great with yellow, white and black.

Or with deep violet or french blue and stone.

I do think the subway tiles are already a tired fad. I'd go for classic tiles as you'll have them for ages.

What do you want on the floor? What about the neisha crossland tiles at Harvey Maria?

Those Neisha Crossland tiles are gorgeous! Right up my street, thank you for the great suggestion minkah.
Have ordered a sample already!

Like the idea of French blue too.
Excuse my ignorance, but by 'classic tiles' are we just talking square? The tiles I was looking at were white rectangles but not bevelled, or is that still a bit naff?

Simple tiles! Timeless, unobtrusive. No 'clever' tiles....the 'clever' quality gets stale quicker than white bread..!

Square, yes. Not beveled is fine!

I love the neisha c. Tiles! I really hope you enjoy them, they are lovely!

I seem to be on an exclamation mark roll this morning...(!)

Grey looks great with orange as well. Little Greene's citrine or marine blue would look good if you wanted bold - but you don't. Argh Anyway their colours are lovely so order a paint chart and try the colours against the units.

Meant to add that I currently love these

Fgs! Anyway Fired Earth yellow ones called Cotignac. I have nowhere else I can tile now so I think you should use them for me Grin

Those cotignac ones are so lovely and on sale at the moment too! Double brilliance!

I'm going to go in to the nearest Fired Earth shop tomorrow and have a feel (in a less pervy way than that sounded).

Such awesome suggestions, thanks guys. Really looking forward to the place looking less like a building site. Looking through the websites you've suggested will keep me going!
