replace chair pads

We've got wooden chairs with suede type chair pads. They are in a dreadful state due to kids dropping food on them.

I want to re-cover the seats with wipe clean fabric. However I've no idea what would be best. And cheapest! Can anyone give me ideas?

Thanks

Are they fixed seat pads, or do they tie on? Especially the former don't use a massive amount of fabric... Probably six chairs to a linear metre, so the cost shouldn't be prohibitive. You'll also need a decent pair of scissors and a staple gun. (For tie-on cushions, you'll want scissors, sewing machine, and a modicum of skill).

I like John Lewis range of oil cloths: www.johnlewis.com/fabrics/pvc-fabric/c700008678/pg-view-all

If you google oil cloth, you'll find lots of other online sellers. Be warned though, "oil cloth" describes several different types of material, including woven fabrics coated with vinyl, acrylic or Teflon, or just plain sheet vinyl. You really need a woven material to support stitching or staples, and it can be hard to tell if that's what you're getting buying online. You also need to decide if you really want the shiny-PVC look, or if you want the fabric to look like fabric (Teflon-coated often a better bet) - really you ought to see it in the flesh before you buy.
