The rough bathroom plan is here in free online 3D planner (the colours and units aren't exact choices as the range of units to play with are limited in the online planner, but the overall picture is there - I may or not may not like dark vanities and dark walls)))

It's the wall around bath that I have no idea what to do with? Matt/glossy white tiles look uninspired. I definitely don't want metro brick-effect tiles. Not sure about stone effect tiles...

WWYD? (if pictures are clear enough)

Planner won't let me incorporate shower unit over bath but that's going to be there with glass shield.

There's enough going on in there with paint, panelling, wood floor, wood vanity. I'd go with the uninspired large white gloss tile. Its lovely as it is. It doesn't need any more features.

you need a min of 150mm between the loo and the wall.

hyperspacebug · 12/06/2014 13:37

burnishedsilver - good point really. I just need to disassociate white = cheap.

Tabithasgran - yes it definitely will be 15cm off the wall, the planner wasn't great as it wouldn't let me position exactly - I do have my measurements for everything.

Any more affirmations white tiles are ok?))

brick effect or big plain white tiles?

large white.
You can get large tiles which are white but with a very subtle bit of detail or texture. That can look good. Have you looked at Laura Ashley?

MajesticWhine · 12/06/2014 13:47

eg Hinton, Highgate, Isadore

NorbertDentressangle · 12/06/2014 13:53

How about a glass splashback - some images here.

You can keep it neutral or opt for a colour if you don't think you'll get bored of it.

hyperspacebug · 12/06/2014 14:16

I had builders scoffing at splashbacks for baths - sigh)))) I got excited about transparent glass splashback until I thought about water marks...

Thank you MajesticWhine for pointing to Laura Ashley, love Hinton and Highgate especially! I'm outnumbered by men in the house so floral tiles are probably out, although DH likes patterns in general too.
