Where can I get nice curtains for a child's bedroom??

Help! I am decorating a new bedroom for DD1. I have ordered this furniture set from Tesco and can't decide on curtains etc. I would like to buy matching or co-ordinating/non-clashing curtains and a bedspread for her - something lovely that will last. There is a nice bedspread with butterflies on at Laura Ashley but can't find any suitable curtains that will go in the right size - preferably blackout (either eyelet or pencil pleat is fine).

I have a headache now from looking. I'm not wedded to the bedspread - something totally different would be fine, as long as I can get a bed cover (not duvet cover - something that just slings on over the top of it as decor) and curtains that match-ish. All ideas of places to look appreciated. I have tried Next, M&S, laura Ashley, GLTC, you name it - nothing is right. I don't want white curtains as they will get grubby. The walls are rose white and the carpet is just a plain beige. Thanks for any help!

Try B&Q. I got my DC's made to measure from there- you can choose either pencil pleat or eyelet. They are blackout lined as well. My two are boys so I just got plain dark blue. Dunelm also do made to measure and do have more choice on material but they were more expensive. I suppose boys are easier to choose for so the choice of material didn't matter for me, good luck.

You could always get some material and get someone to run them up for you? There are quite a few ladies who make curtains in my locality and they don't charge much. It just gives me much more choice over fabric. I even had a pair refashioned to fit an odd shape window, and had cushion covers made from the surplus. Having said that, dunelm are fab!

I've added and removed about 4 different designs to my basket from Dunelm over the course of the weekend. We have Dunelm curtains in the front room (was really impressed with this particular pair, really lovely quality and very reasonably priced) and also in the hall and on the landing - but I just am not grabbed by any of the current designs. I am being fussy and cannot make decisions.

I am thinking about either getting the plain pale pink pair from Next or getting some made in a Laura Ashley fabric. I know someone who will make curtains but not sure what she charges and I think it will take quite a while as she is always busy (she does dressmaking too).

Dunelm mill have a great selection. Got a nice set there last year for baby number 1. Just bought a different set for baby number 2. Black out blinds. Lots of matching stuff etc, bedding, wall hooks. And they don't cost the earth

I love the curtains and I bought black out linings for about £20 from dunelm which are fantastic and you don't need to see onto the curtains.
