Lighting in a sunroom - pendant or spotlights

Hi any opinions appreciated re lighting in a sunroom, had originally decided on spotlights but now wondering would a pendant light with one of those big decorative shades be nicer seeing as its a vaulted ceiling. Thanks so much ..... FF

So sorry if it makes any difference should add it will be used as a playroom mostly rather than a dining type room. Thanks

It depends on the room.
We have wall lights (because we have one long wall without windows) and central spots on the apex of the roof in our conservatory.
High ceilings do however lend themselves to pendants, we've got them everywhere else in the house with 3m+ ceilings. You must however make sure they are in proportion with the room. I struggled to find them big enough to not look dwarfed in the volume of the room.
They look good now though.

Hi wonkylegs the ceiling is 10ft at the apex where rest of house is 8ft. Am beginning to wonder if the pendant is the better option as the quirky shade could give the room some character but as you say getting the right shade is trial and error and ££££££.Oh what to do - should have started researching so much earlier Confused

I don't know what your style is but we've got various shades from Blue Marmalade,
Smarty Lamps,
Black + Blum,
Vita
and
Kaigami
They are all very sculptural and don't cost the earth.

Oh wow Wonkylegs they are fab sites especially the Kaigami site and not that expensive also. Still undecided so will sleep on it and see in the morning. Thanks again
