Hi,

Where is the best place to buy christmas decorations? We're starting from scratch this year but don't want to spend ££££.

If you can bear it, buy budget from pound land this year, then get gorgeous ones for pennies in Jan when shops just want to get rid. Ikea have lovely ones that are always so cheap in Jan. John Lewis too.

Tk maxx have some wonderful bits and bobs in.

Some where like Wilkinsons sells cheap and nice decorations.

Homebase have some lovely things in and not too pricey. Also homemade stuff can look fab and have lots of sentimental value.

Accesorize/ Monsoon always sell lovely deco's in the January sale, not that is much help to you now but definitely worth looking out for the following year.

Paperchase? Pipii? Make your own natural decs with bundles of cinnamon sticks and slices of dried orange, or dried cranberries threaded together to make a garland? Homemade pompoms in different colours or buttons wired together in different shapes can also look good.

John lewis, m&s, net, garden centres, the white company, matalan are all places I have bought decent decorations from in the past. Paperchase too on occasion. I think m&s and john Lewis are hard to beat.

The Range have some very nice ones and they are much cheaper than John Lewis or Marks and Spencers.

There are often really nice and unusual decorations in garden centres too (independents are best if you have one!). Dodge the plastic reindeer and find nice nature-inspired things...unless plastic reindeer is the look you're going for?!

I've bought a bunch from poundland today and over the last couple of weeks and they're just as nice as other places. Some of their stuff is very gaudy but I just got the plain red white and gold bits. Asda direct also do lovely stuff for just a little bit more and will deliver to your nearest asda for free Smile HTH
