Where is your shop KringleCandleLover? Sounds like heaven!

SchnitzelVonKrumm · 25/10/2013 19:58

Yankee candles MING. another vote for White Company Winter.

AnyFuckerWillDo · 26/10/2013 18:59

Bought ambipur's Christmas one, can smell it as soon as I walk through door.
Febreze one on bathroom, nearly twice the price as ambi and can't smell a thing

Sorry, no to Yankee Candles here too. So powerful, you can taste them!

I like True Grace candles, and they do a lovely Christmas one which I can't help but buy each year. Here's a link.

We have the Yankee Christmas Candle, and it does indeed smell very Christmassy. Just be aware that it leaves terrible soot marks when you burn it.

JemimaMuddledUp · 27/10/2013 09:12

Do not, under any circumstances, buy the Ambi Pur Christmas reed diffuser. My mum bought me one as she thought I might like it. It smells disgusting and is so strong that it has permeated the whole house. The smell is even lingering on the clothes in my wardrobe. Bleugh.

Back to Yankee for me.

Alexandrite · 27/10/2013 09:17

I dont think I'd like the White Company one as it says it smells of cloves and cinnamon and I hate the smell of cloves. I might like the Yankee Christmas one as I adore their chocolate bunnies one. It smells of melting chocolate.

TheSitChewAceChien · 27/10/2013 09:25

I have Yankee 'Red Apple Wreath' left over from last year. It's lovely, very Christmassy, but not too overpowering.

Alexandrite · 27/10/2013 10:17

Last year I bought gingerbread house making kits from ikea for my dds. They filled the house with a delicious gingerbread smell. Will do tge the same this year

LordPalmerston · 27/10/2013 10:18

the marks red one - every year

LordPalmerston · 27/10/2013 10:19

wtf is an "inclusion candle"?

NaturalBloodsuckerYeahRight · 27/10/2013 10:23

My name is Natural and I have a scented candle addiction.

I think tk maxx has a lovely selection of big jar candles and half the price of YC. I've very rarely had a dud one. It's all pumpkin ones for me ATM , far to early to bring out the Xmas ones.....

LordPalmerston · 27/10/2013 11:36

There's some celebrity florist whose candles end up in Tk maxx.

Madamecastafiore · 27/10/2013 11:39

Was going to say White Co Winter range but can see others have.

Most wonderful Christmassy smell, last really well too.

Can I recommend heaven scent candles. I bought some when I was in Devon and they have a website. I've only got one left and I'll have to find a local supplier. They're organic and I've never liked a candle so much. They have an amazing range. I've got 'hops and herb garden' burning in front if me as we speak. They last ages, they're reasonably priced and they smell stronger and better than any other candle I've tried and I'm a candle addict and snob :)

Pinkpartysprinkles · 27/10/2013 22:21

Oliver Bonas do nice candles, I heard made by the same people as white company ones but cheaper!

Waitrose have taken 1/3 off all of their RHS candles - tea lights, in tins and in glass jars. Bought the fig one and the orange one, both in tins, last week for just over a fiver. They are just fab. I also bought a Much bigger waitrose own brand one in. Tin, called winter or christmas ( the tin is silver and white and v nice) for a Fiver. I am delighted with them all.

Helliecopter · 02/11/2013 18:14

I like the Ikea candles for a cheap but effective festive scent. The brown cinnamon based one is lovely and strong enough to be effective but not overpowering.
Got some lovely ones in Sainsbos last year in little nordic-style tins, they smelt lovely.
I've also had some really good ones from HomeSense/TK Maxx over the years too. You have to wade through the rubbish, but there are some really lovely scents to be found for not a lot of money.

Oh to have Diptyque, White Company and Jo Malone budget for candles!

In about 2/3 weeks I will be found on my own, sat on the floor in the candle aisle of TK Maxx smelling every single 1, until I find my favourite different Christmas smell.
It's becoming a tradition now. Grin

Catsmamma · 02/11/2013 21:24

i bought some in Home bargains £2.99

I usually only buy vanilla, but also go the apple cinnamon spice

The vanilla one smells a bit cheap icecreamy in the jar, I thought it'd do for covering the dog stench. However once it is burning it's more biscuity and fresh, even dh commented

I really prefer the apple cinnamon one, but since I had a MASSIVE sneezing fit after lighting it I haven't dared light that one again.

HappyMummyOfOne · 03/11/2013 12:24

Next home shop smelt fabulous the other day but couldnt see the open diffusers on display but they must have been. I love yankee candles but they do leave smoke marks from burning.
