Boys bedroom that's also a dining room!

I'd like to decorate my ds's bedroom. He is 7 and is currently undergoing assessment for as and adhd.
We live in a bungalow and his bedroom is actually a dining room so you have to go through this room to access the kitchen. (Only way i could afford 3 separate bedrooms!)
Because i wont decorate the room again i need to keep in mind that when i sell the house, the room needs to be a dining room.
So dear mumsnetters. Can anyone suggest a wallpaper that will help an anxious boy feel safe and happy, that will double up as an appropriate dining room wallpaper. We are not fussy on colour, as long as it's not too dark as the room is not a big one!

Pale blue wallpaper?

Or a green?

How about a calming colour and some transfers to make it more child-friendly?

Hadn't thought about transfers. That's a great idea! Will they damage the wallpaper if I peel them off though?

If you remove all the old paper and just paint the walls any stickers will come off more easily. Plus you can just paint over any scuffs that occur. This is what we did when selling and still do in our new house. I like Dulux almond white- it goes with everything.

We have stickers in DD's room, (I think they're called decals for the purposes of searching online), and when I repositioned one a tiny bit of paint came off, so it's probably best to make sure you have some paint left over to do touch ups if you need to.

There are some really good ones available, we got ours in Homebase, but you can get big dinosaur skeletons etc online.

Excellent. Thank you!

I would agree - just paint and then use wall stickers. We have some in our daughters' room and they look great, I have repositioned them a few times with no problems.
