The sitting room will be navy in places and the kitchen when I can find the right colour an air force type blue, we need to paint the hallway but I think pure white will look a bit stark and I don't like beigey colours but we have gone for a beigey creamy fleck carpet as I couldn't find a grey I liked and wanted something with a fleck to hide the crumbs fluff etc up the stairs and the hallway is a Victorian tile in red/blue/white/grey.I think linking the two rooms with a v v pale grey will work but having plastered on some tester pots some greys were far too dark (Cornforth white) some too blue (blackened) but I think strong white might work but with the tester pot it still looks a bit odd. Does anyone else have a cream/beige carpet and greyish walls and white trims and does it look odd or super slick which is more of what I am aiming for!!

We have strong white in our (east facing) living room with parquet floor. Wanted an off white that wasn't beige-y. It looks paler in direct light. I think it would look fine with cream carpet.

We have cream carpets in hall (no flecks) and a very pale blue/grey (dulux hints range in cornflower) and I love it! Will definately being doing same when we move to new house. Like you I find beiges a bit blah. You do have to look for a colour on the tin about 3 shades lighter than you want as the colours always paint darker. It took me 10 testers to get the right shade for the hall. I intend to do a pale grey for our bedroom so will be trying the colour you have suggested.
