Is it completely inappropriate - would you raise an eyebrow if you saw it in a 6 year old's bedroom?

Well i have 4 yo. So not sure. But sounds pretty harmless to me

peanutbuttersarnies · 15/08/2013 21:16

Is it his choice? There myst be tons of alternatives?

holidaybug · 15/08/2013 21:18

Most James Bond ones involve a gun unfortunately. He loves James Bond.

Well i am only one person, but i wouldnt raise my eyebrows

ChippingInHopHopHop · 15/08/2013 21:21

I would think it was 'cool' - the gun wouldn't even cross my mind. It's the classic 'stance' isn't it...

JeanBodel · 15/08/2013 21:22

Sounds absolutely fine.

holidaybug · 15/08/2013 21:24

Thanks, I might let him have it then!

He even wants a James Bond party next year and has asked me to buy the outfits for all his guests - old before his time ...

Ummm.....I would see James Bond first....it's an iconic image, isn't it.

I would then see the gun, and just think you are one of those parents who isn't like me. I don't like guns.

Having said that, I would let my 14 year old DS have this.

Would you let your DS watch James Bond films?

Would I raise an eyebrow? No more than if you fed your DC cheep burgers, or let your 8 year old wear low heels.

Fine for other peoples DC, but not what I'd do with mine.

LynetteScavo · 15/08/2013 21:27

Oh, bummer, I just ruined the thread!

DH has been planning a James Bond party for DS1's 18th since he turned one. So, yes, your DS is a little advanced. Grin

LynetteScavo · 15/08/2013 21:29

Low heels? I meant high heels, obviously.

I have nothing against low heels.

Even James Bond wears low heals.

How do you spell heals, anyway?

DS has watched one or two of the early James Bond films - they were much tamer in the early days. I wouldn't let him watch any of the others.

I'm not comfortable with the gun aspect, hence the post - I just thought I might be overreacting. After all, he loves Star Wars as do loads of kids and there are plenty of guns in that too.

What about a JB car one, googling comes up with various bond car ones. + I love Aston Martins Wink
Sorry I wouldn't be a fan of guns on the wall even if it's in loads of stuff they like.

PeterParkerSays · 16/08/2013 20:18

I wouldn't but more because it's a silhouette on the wall, presumably life size, than because of the gun. Could it frighten him if he wakes up in the middle of the night?

holidaybug · 17/08/2013 21:34

Thanks for all your feedback. I think I will let him have the silhouette sticker in his playroom. I've found a very discreet sticker which I think will keep us all happy.

I refused to let my DH put his enormous James bond (complete with gun) poster up in our bedroom! He was quite upset!

deXavia · 26/08/2013 07:16

My DS just about to turn 7 would LOVE this. He also wants a James Bind birthday party. The guns don't bother me and the early ones are very tame but oh lord the sexism Shock . We watched one over the summer and my 19 year old niece was horrified.

Stickers don't kill people, people kill people.
