Hi

Moved into my flat a year ago very quickly (was 9month pg) and although we decorated to a great standard a year on I'm struggling for space. The bathroom is the first to be done but I'm going to go crazy if I don't get storage. Have some money for it but want to get it right

Main problems: old baby stuff inc clothes, toys, bedding

In use toys

Kitchen cupboards are not organised as only have 2 for food and 1 for pots/pans

Shoes and coats

Tool/cleaning cupboard

The utility room is ready for cupboards and already have shelves up in our bedroom. We have room for storage in baby's room but I want to get the right ones,

Any advice?

Thank you

My friend who has seven children and extras, has these floor to ceiling in quite a few rooms, her house is the cleanest neatest house I have ever been in, so they must work.

if you haven't done your bathroom yet, consider using the space under the bath! I found s storage bath panel by accident looking for one to go with tongue and groove. Both ends slide across, it locks and we can store all of our cleaning stuff under it.

i would vaccuum pack the baby stuff then it takes up much less space. also whatever you get get doors on it. much tidier than shelved and less dusting!

second vacuum pack baby stuff- john lewis are the best, mine are still sealed after 4 years and an overseas move. A bit more expensive - but worth it.

Also box little used pans etc, and put then on top on your kitchen units - if you have space there. Consider if something is worth the space - ie big space taken by it, but little cost to replace.

Coats etc - have not got a clue, my next project when we move. Depends on hall space. Ideally built in cupboard, to hide mountain of junk!

Get a nice wooden trunk or two to use as coffee tables, bedside tables, seats, excellent for packing away thing.
