That isn't pink plastic. I seriously want to know... have 2 DNs coming to stay for some time, so I'll want to kit out a decent room for them.

There is some gorgeous stuff currently on sale at MultiYork / Feather & Black...

HansieMom · 16/06/2013 22:22

I would go to thrift or antique store and buy some beautiful well made pieces.

Catnipbush · 18/06/2013 21:12

I agree. I really dislike badly made, modern furniture. Up cycle some vintage pieces.

LindaMcCartneySausage · 18/06/2013 21:15

Depends on your budget of course, but we bought from children's furniture from Little White Company and The Great Little Trading Company. Its very well made and no pink plastic. I've also had some great stuff from Ikea

Aspace. Lovely but £££

LoveSewingBee · 18/06/2013 21:18

Feather and Black - solid hardwood, beautifully made, will last for years.

Vertbaudet has some lovely stuff and H&M home has fab accessories - find their website v addictive as they always have new stuff!

Itsjustafleshwound · 18/06/2013 21:21

I must admit that I did buy some kids furniture from GLTC and it was awful (modular furniture) and customer services stank!

I know it isn't the most glamorous, but the modular IKEA kids furniture is adaptable, good value and works.

EleanorFarjeon · 18/06/2013 21:22

Agree with Aspace - we have got some gorgeous stuff from there and it looks like it might last forever.

PacificDogwood · 18/06/2013 21:24

I second Aspace - marvellous, well-made, solid stuff. But yet, pricey.
If you sign up to their email alerts you sometimes get 30% off - depends how much time you have.

H&M home you say? Hm.... interesting!

We have things from GLTC, White Company, and good old ikea.

Eagleray · 18/06/2013 21:51

I spend hours looking at the H&M stuff, and have already bought bedlinen, curtains etc. The kids' stuff is quite quirky and cute but you have to be quick as they turn the ranges over v quickly!

If money is no object: loaf

Our DSs furniture isn't children's furniture it's just nice furniture. I wanted something that would last. My Dad had a similar ethos and bought me beautiful bedroom furniture from Bristol Guide and 25yrs later I've still got it (albeit relegated to the guest room)
We are about to buy DS a new bed from oak furniture land, although I also saw one I liked in feather & black but it wasn't in the right wood. I make it a 'kids room' with accessories & paint which are easy to change as they rapidly grow.

Furniture for kids comes in many different styles and colors. The important thing you have to remember when you are looking for furniture is their safety. You have to keep in mind that the sharp edges of furniture you purchase might cause danger to your child. If you are looking for quality and affordable kids furniture, you can find these on the internet. With the right furniture, you can create a good environment for your child.

Try wooden-toys-direct.co.uk they have a great range of children's furniture including table and chairs, bookcases toy boxes and more. I bought a Teamson fantasy fields sunny safari toddler bed for jj. They have a great themed range of furniture for boys and girls and plain simple designs to.

We also like aspace, ikea. John Lewis might be worth a look. Habitat also has some good kids' furniture. My neighbour got some lovely single bed frames for a spare room from Argos of all places.
