Just kitchen planning & wanted to ask people what ovens they think are best ..eye level (more practical?)or range master (more beautiful)...what do you have? What works best for you? Any advice welcome.. Rocknroll this sat night!

I love my Rangemaster and it pleases me every time I see it! It's a great cooker, with 5 gas hobs and two electric which have a griddle over them. The griddle is so useful.

However we have a toddler and I find having the oven doors open nervewracking when he is in the house. Having said that, they're heavy and hard to open for little hands so I'm not worried that he will open them. Controls are also at fiddle able height.

All in all though I would still take the Rangemaster as it just makes the kitchen, is a real focal point and admired by all who see it!

Our kids are 3& 5 so not such an issue but its just the bending down etc.. No big deal I guess. A range will def suit the style of kitchen/ house more than modern eye level too... Prob is think we may need to move gas supply.. Dilemmas!

I can't begin to imagine why people don't have eye level ovens! Why don't they?. I have had one for 9 years now and would never consider anything else. Have got a separate 5 ring hob with pan drawers under.

But then again, I am not looking for people to admire my oven Wink.

Bending down not too much of an issue - one oven has a pan drawer below it so you don't have to go down to the floor, the other has a rack attached to the inside of the door which is also handy as you don't have to go into the oven. (Classic Deluxe 110).

We've just had a new kitchen and had a Rangemaster. We adore it! The 5 burners are great, as is the griddle. The ovens heat up super quick and are such a good size. And it looks beautiful, it's cranberry red.

We did consider an eye level oven and separate hob, but cost wise it worked out fairly similar (we were looking at Neff ovens) so we went for the Range so that if we ever moved house, it could come with us and therefore the cost would spread out over more uses!
The appearance factored quite low, but now we have it, it really is the crowning glory of the kitchen. Smile

We are moving & getting a new kitchen at the moment and I can't wait to get rid of my range. Yes it's beautiful and loads of people have admired it, yes the big hob is great but the bending down when baking/cooking is a bugger. The floor level pan drawer is too low & never gets used.
Can't wait to get my eye level neff ovens with a special hide away doors.

It's also thinking about the best use of the available space & layout.. An eye level would need to be opp side of kitchen to the hob & eats into dining area.. Then there's the surfaces, granite or other??? So many decisions to make!

I love my range master, had it 9 years and i still love it.

We have a 90cm one, no pan drawer. We have a deep pan drawers next to the range which hold the trays and pans. We went for a wood effect laminate with a modern square profile. We are serious cooks and didn't want a work surface that would chip or mark or stain. And anything other than laminate adds ££££ to the overall cost.

I agree with wonkylegs , we inherited a 110 rangemaster when we moved into our house, everyone said how lovely, but they didn't have to live with it. The left hand oven just became a storage space for oven racks, the pan drawer below the right hand oven wasn't actually big enough for trays and roasting dishes to stand upright so everything got piled on top of each other, and we never really used the griddle. We have just had a new kitchen fitted - and top of wish list was eye level big single oven with drawer below deep enough that all baking trays etc can stand upright (thanks to marvellous rack from Lakeland). I am so pleased with it.

We have two eye level double ovens, side by side in full height units and a 5 burner job plus griddle in an island. Last house had range. Bloody love current one9.
