Days out for toddler in London

We take my 20 month old daughter out most days (we live in SE London near the train) after playgroup/ and or swimming for the afternoon, but wonder what else is good as it?s getting a little samey. We have a zoo car, an aquarium card and go to the Natural History Museum/Science Museum. Basically anywhere easy to get from London Bridge.

Also the Horniman in Lewisham. But I wonder if I'm missing some good things. I've been abroad for a few years so I could be.

She loves water and ?runnin about?.

There are some brilliant water play/sprinkler places in SE London too; Sydenham Wells Park, Danson Park, Swanley Park (Kent really), Coram Fields, sprinklers at Somerset House and the river at Ladywell Fields (behind Lewisham Hospital and yes, people including me let their toddlers paddle in it). The Museum of Kentlife is good if you've got a car.

south bank watch this space summer events at national theatre and fountain near festival hall.
also just took my 2 year old to the ernesto neto exhibition at hayward gallery and he loved it.

dulwich park is brilliant too. you can hire bikes with toddler chariots on the front . there's ducks, playground and we went on a pedalo last week - very safe for 2.5 year old.

there's an enormous sandpit opposite the horniman too

Danson Park is amazing!!!

Do you drive - if so there is the river in Eynsford. my little un loves walking up and down and splashing around in it.

How about one of the city farms? Took my 15mo to mudchute farm the other day and he loved it.

The docklands museum is good too, they have a special children's section (open afternoons only iirc) with exhibits they can touch/play with and a soft play area, they also hold free music/story sessions

Oh wow. thanks so much and will try them out. I did Kensington gardens (mostly nannies with their charges) and she LOVED it. So much she cried when we had to go.

great thread with lots to try any recommendations for west london? we are on piccadilly line (northfield), and are new to the city, so lots for us to do but during the week i try to do things more for the kids -- have a 3.5 and 1.5 years old. we went to kensington garden as well, and went on the carousel which of course both of them loved!
didn't know of any paddling pool around here but walked into the one in Bishop park near putney bridge, a nice playground there as well.

My four year old DS3 loves the playground in Kensington Gardens too.

Have you been to Holland Park? There's a sandy play area with slides and climbing frames for toddlers or the larger play area for over 3s. The Park itself is lovely for wandering around and it's fun trying to spot squirrels and rabbits.

Battersea Park is lovely too and the little zoo is nice for under 10s.

how about Sydenham Hill Wood? you could get the train to East Dulwich from London Bridge then a bus up the road and start at Cox's Walk
