We've booked to go to Crete for a week in August, and I'm about to book our travel insurance. My DH, ever the pessimist, mentioned checking the details to make sure we'd be covered should we have another volcanic ash fiasco.
I usually use the Post Office, who have always been great, and I think they were one of the few companies to pay up with no quibbles following the original incident, as long as you travelled before the problems were first reported.
I've had a quick look at their policy stuff about this, and the Post Office cover details now say
'At present reports indicate that sporadic airspace closure is possible over the coming weeks and even months. Therefore, it is foreseeable that future problems may arise as a result of this incident and as such customers insurance would not be obliged to cover such events, unless otherwise stated.'
So, my question is, if it does happen again will all insurers use this as a get-out clause, and has anyone found insurance that guarantees covering delayed or cancelled flights/holidays in the future, should it happen again?
Any help or advice appreciated.
