What I Learned on My Summer Vacation

- Talk to your kids about jetlag. I spoke to DS1 (almost 4) about waking up in the middle of the night confused, a few times before we left for Canada. He was really good with jetlag, didn't wake us in the night at all.
2. Good parks are everything. There's an excellent park around the corner from us now, and we're living there. Wading pool, sandy bit, sand + water bit, climbing frame, they're building a mud house (kids help) and a food stall that sells actual food.
What have you learned?

Oh, I deserve a good park now! I'm on holiday with two kids and no husband! And I spent the first week of the holiday (with DH around) lying still, ill.
Seriously, it's a lovely park, and I wish we had one like it near us in the UK.
Or is it the whole "being in Canada" thing you're being envious of?

Any flight longer than 2 hours is not fun with a 15 months old who thinks that it is fun to play "peek-a-boo" with all surrounding passengers, throwing things at them when they do not reciprocate

The park and Canada both sound fab. Sorry to hear you were not well. Enjoy the rest of your hols, although it sounds as if you are anyway

When dh says he has swapped over buggies and put the small one in your car, don't believe him otherwise you'll end up in Dublin for a week on your own while he's working with 4 kids and no buggy....
We are now the owners of Mothercare's cheapest model in addition to the pushchairs already crowding our house!
