Travel cots - light AND stable

Hi there

I need to get a lightweight but long-lasting and stable travel cot for my big and active baby girl. She's already 9 months so we don't need the new-born extras (eg bassinet)

We live overseas but we'll be spending a couple of months back in the UK this summer and successive ones, so this cot would primarily be for these visits. That's why it's important it's lightweight, as we'll be rushing around the UK, mainly by public transport, visiting family friends, so it needs light enough to carry with other luggage. But it also got to be big enough to last until she's much bigger - I don't want to find she's out-grown it already next summer.

I'm considering the Silver Cross Easy Sleeper (if I can find it), the P&T Traveller (though it's expensive) and the Nomad or a similar tent (though I'm worried that they won't be stable enough indoors for a baby who rolls, sits and stands in bed). I'd be grateful to hear about them from people who already own them - pros & cons.

Many thanks

We have a Nomad and I'd say it's very stable. And, unless you put it up on something else (lie a coffee table or something like that), it shouldn't pose any risk (but I'm sure you'd never do that ).
We got a good deal for it on eBay, including a sleeping bag (it completely unzips, so you can use the bottom half as extra padding) and the self-inflatable mattress.

We have a bush baby tent thing for our 2.4yo DS that's fantastic. We're in the midst of a huge move (from UK back to US) and he's been sleeping in it for the past 2 1/2 months. It folds into a fairly flat circle that fits in a ginormous suitcase He's rolled around in it a fair bit but hasn't actually tipped it over. We've definitely got our money's worth. As for more traditional travel cots, you might want to try to look at the baby bjorn. It's supposed to be very light and easy to set up.
