Did they build a new pool? What are the mossies like? Did you have a good time?

Have just booked this parc for next year with Canvas holidays - £198 for 12 nights over June half term - bargain! Glad to read good reviews here...

Blimey - you are organised! It is true that the best vans get booked up really early though!

Mme Blueberry - we did 3 overnights (at least - some were 2 or 3 nighters) in each direction. I hate doing really long days in the car, so build the journey as part of the holiday.

We did Brussels to the Rhein the first afternoon - overnight in a pension.
Rhein to Bavaria to spend 2 nights in b&b in a town where some friends live (but had no room to put us up)
Bavaria, through Austria (gorgeous scenery) and the Dolomites to Valpolicella (not far from Lake Garda) for one night.
Then through Tuscany to Park Albatross for 10 nights.

On the way back, we stopped at Lake Como for 3 nights (my fave bit), then 3 nights in Meiringen in Switzerland. Last stop was in Alsace Lorraine then back to Brussels. We had 3 lovely weeks. But I think if you can get cheap flights to Pisa it is definitely cheaper to fly and hire a car.

You could do it from the UK in a couple of days if you are happy to drive for much longer. The recommended route takes you through Switzerland, for which you need to buy a vignette (about £30) but depending on when you travel the San Gottardo tunnel can get very busy with long queues.

And the Canvas reps were lovely. They popped by nearly everyday to check that everything was OK. Our mobile was spotlessly clean. Kids clubs very well organised. It is a big, busy site, with lots going on though - some of the live music was really good, and the big bar area under the pine trees is lovely. It is also cash free - you have a little card for making purchases - though the supermarket also took bank cards.
