passport question please help thank you..xx

when we got our passports in jan my dd was 15...she is 16 now she has a five year passport...now im thinking is that ok [sure it should be as the passport office did it] how can you tell if a passport is a child/adult passport? should i have got her a ten year passport? we are going to australia if thet makes a differance .

aaa, phone the helpline and they will tell you, however when i had to renew dd's passport last year when she was 13, i had to get 10 year one.

errmm..ok...no worries, ring the australian embassy tomorrow..do not panic until then, however, im sure the passport agency would issue the correct passport IYSWIM, as long as it has at least 6 months on when you return.

I think you'll be absolutely fine. The passport website states that children aged up to 15 must have their individual passport. and "Once they reach their 16th birthday they then become eligible for a standard 10-year passport" NB They become eligible for a 10 year one, not they must have.

It's not the same as when children were on an adult's passport and had to get their own when they reached 16. I don't think there is a "child passport" per se, they're just 5 year ones.

I think you have to upgrade passports when there 16 i did, its free though you can fill in the application online.
