British Airways bulkhead seats

Booked ages ago our summer flights to return to UK and had requested (and had confirmed) bulkhead seats with bassinet. Just checked our booking on line and I'm in the bulkhead with DD and DS but DH is in a different row. Finally got through to someone from BA (in middle east) and they claim that one one adult can sit with kids in bulkhead row.

Anyone know if this is true or not? Seems a little odd to me?

Yes it is right. They have to keep the other seats incase someone else needs the bassinet position.

Used to work for BA

Wasn't the case when we flew to to LA on BA with out baby. DH and sat next to each other on a bulkhead row with with a bassinet for our 4mth old on boht flights. No question of splitting parents up, that seems daft.

BA bassinets are great btw, by far the best of any airline we've flown with babies, as were the staff.

It depends on how many babies there are booked on the flight and need bassinets.

I presume all bassinets are booked for your husband to be in a different row.

If you think about it if you were another passenger who asked for a bassinet and didn't get it because your family took up 4 seats but only one bassinet you'd be a bit miffed - well, I would anyway.

Could your husband take your older child into the row he is on to give you a bit of a break and only 1 of your 2?

Thanks for that Wakarimasen. Not being funny, but I could understand it if the plane was like on Emirates where it is 2-4-2 and there are two bassinets in the middle and one on either side so one in front of each two. That makes sense. However, according to the BA website, the configuration is 3-3-3 so there is only one bassinet in front of three seats so not possible to have two families with one baby next to each other if that makes sense? So as it stands, there will be a lone adult sitting next to DD and I (and DS) whilst DH is not allowed to sit with us. Now that doesn't make sense to me

I can appreicate how other passengers would feel if we 'wasted' a seat where they could have used the bassinet. We had this last year with Emirates. We'd booked and had confirmed a bassinet and at check in they said they were all in use. They even checked on the system and said all bulkhead seats booked by families with babies. Fair enough I thought until I walked up and down the plane trying to settle my baby and found that out of the 8 (I think?) possible bassinets only one was in use as none of the others had any families sitting there, it was mostly men wanting the extra legroom. I totally agree I'd be miffed if I had to sit with a baby squashed on my lap as the arse/man in front reclined their seat fully when there could have been available bassinets.

I just wanted to know if that really was the policy as it seems daft in light of the fact that it appears you can't fit another family/bassinet next to us.
