Hi

Well we're off to eurodisney next week , me , husband, Granny, 2 x 2 yr olds and a 5 yr old !!staying at Davy Crockett Ranch .....driving over with ferry ....3 hrs each side ...only staying 3 days !!! think we're mad.

Trying to start a list of stuff to take , don't want to take too much as we have to cram in an extra travel cot and double buggy (they only supply 1 cot ....twins) but don't want to spend a fortune whilst there. Have got my 5 yr old an autograph book already. What are towels etc like ???

Also .....has anyone been into Disney parks with roofbox on ?? will we fit in ok ...ontop of Zafira (new box, so unsure).

Questions /stress !!????

Thanks for any stress saving/money saving tips in advance

PLAN your days at the park.

First time in - suss it out, get one of the little maps, find out what rides have fast-pass etc. Expect little from your first time in because it's overwhelming.

When you get back to the hotel after that first reccie, make a plan to get to the park the following day, as soon as it opens.

Have a 'route' planned of what rides and in what order and get DH ready to run to each fast-pass ride inbetween rides.

DO NOT PLAN to spend hours and hours and hours in there. The kids get well hacked off and it becomes no fun very quickly after that. Just plan for, say, up until 2pm and then back to hotel to recover.

Hope this helps!

We stayed at Davy Crockett a year ago with 2x 15 yr olds & a 12yr old. Although it is not on the main Disney site it doesn't take long to get there & you can use your disney hotel pass to get into the park early. The restaurant on site is a buffet style one, the shop holds quite a varied stock but not sure about price comparison, not too sure where the nearest supermarket is nowadays, a few years ago when we went previously it was about 15 to 20 min drive away. The breakfast consists of baguette, pain au chocolat &/ croissant plus butter & jam/nutella with tea/coffee/nesquik which you collect from a cabin at the entrance to your section of cabins every morning. Height wise with the roofbox no problem whatsover, no height barriers in place!
Towels are basic hotle white ones, not bad but might be worth taking a few spare.
The swimming pool at Davy Crockett is quite deep so make sure you have arm bands etc if dc's aren't confident swimmers.
Enjoy your time there.

Hi,
we also stayed at DC last summer with 16 year old, 13 year old 2 1/2 year old and bby.

I loved the collecting of the breakfasts in the morning as did DC3.
We didn't use the restaurant as didn't like that it was a (quite expensive) buffet and with kids that eat like sparrows - well at least 2 of them, it would have been a waste of money. food in shop quite expensive so if you can find a supermarket on your way down I'd do that. we had BBQ most nights as we took the little disposable ones although there are proper BBQs outside the cabins. Please make sure you ensure that your disposable BBQ is completely cold before you put in the bin
Also agree ref taking a few more towels as there weren't enough.

Agree ref the big plus about getting into the parks an hour early. Make the most of it before it gets manic.
Didn't use the pool but it looked nice. Also it was nice that there were a few characters around in the evening by the shop so DD could get her photo taken without the usual rugby scrum.

Ref roof box. We had a huge one on our already huge Volvo XC90. They first evening we were there we went to the DLP area to go to their version of downtown disney, not the main parks (where the cinemas, shops and restaurants are) The car park there was a multi storey and of course we couldn't fit in. I therefoer had to jump out with DC2 - 4 whilst DH and DC1 stood by the side of the road taking the sodding thing of and putting it inside the car so we could fit in the carpark. thank god the next day we discovered the 'normal' car park which didn't have height restrictions.

Hope you have a fab time

We stayed at a campsite up the road from davy Crockett last year and it was fab - nice to escape the madness for a few hours!! I stopped at Cite Europe and stocked up on cheap but lovely wine and food on the way as it's all so much more expensive around DLP! Take stuff with you - tins of tuna etc, for making your own baguettes for lunch as the food at DLP is expensive and not very good! We BBQd or ate at the campsite at night. Would you not be best with 2 sinlge buggies in the park? I speak from experience.... Trying to get through the crowds with a double buggy is a nightmare and the single ones were so much easier.
