Hi,

I'm thinking of starting a new business which sells entertainment bags for children for flights and cars as I feel that the ones given on the planes do not hold my children's imagination for very long.

for younger children I was thinking of selling it in a cute bag which they can carry, with things like book, colouring pad, stickers, little presents to unwrap, jigsaws etc, but obviously not too big as we all know who ends up carrying them sometimes.

for older children it depends on age, but maybe more of a craft type activity.

Hoping to start on the internet and moving on to selling them at train stations and airports.

Would anyone be interested in buying something like this? If so what would your budget be?

Thank you

Nope, as I always do these up myself, so I know what's in them and that my kids would like them. When I've bought pre-made bags before - there are usually some in the magazine aisle - most of it's not interesting to them. Sorry!

Sorry I wouldn't buy....I used to make up my own with junk from the pound shop for long journeys.

agree, i would normally make my own up

that said i'd be tempted to buy if they had particularly unusual/interesting things in...but not if they were too highly priced

i think there IS a market for things like this tohugh

I don't think I'd pay more than £5 max for any travel kit. Bear in mind you can often get a freebie bag of goodies at many airport and roadside diners too. Chances are it ends up in bits on the floor, rolling around the car with ensuing wails ...

meant to say, i wouldn't buy anything with crayons and colouring pads in!
crayons always get lost, my children don't really do colouring anyway, and the books are always a bit shit

what i MIGHT be more tempted to buy would be somehting that opened out and kept the stuff up together? maybe even fitted onto an airline tray? zipped open (maybe with flappy sides to keep stuff from rolling away) and had things to do inside....
