On Dec 1st I will have known dh for 10 years. We have decided to celebrate by dumping our children with my mother and going somewhere lovely together for a few days.
She lives in Nottingham, so I want somewhere within 2 hours max drive of there. It has to be luxurious, have an excellent restaurant, a spa and preferably no kids .

Any recommendations? Or does anybody know of decent websites which will allow me to search for the right place?

Has anyone suggested Nailcote Hall ? They do allow kids there though. Or The Lygon Arms would probably just about be within your 2 hours limit.

Ragdale is much more of a spa than posh hotel - been there twice. It's OK but I don't think it's what you're looking for. Food is "healthy". Lots of orange, leathery women (sorry if you're orange and leathery).
Never been inside Thoresby but went for a walk past it a few months ago. Looks better in the picture.
Don't know about Stapleford but it looks v nice.
Have a great time where ever you go!
