Bloomsbury easily walkable from St Pancras, but not much shopping, and only dull eating, opportunities between. Your Camden idea is good, or you're only 20 mins or so from Oxford St if you hop on a tube. Alternatively if you wanted a wander and didn't specifically need to shop, Lambs Condiut Street has interesting small shops and lots of cafes/eateries which would be lovely on a sunny day. You could walk there, then on to the Bloomsbury.

Have fun!

The Kings Cross/St Pancras area is a bit mixed. There is the new (well, 20th century) British Library nearby, which does exhibitions as well as its library business, if that's your cup of tea. Or there's the British Museum in Bloomsbury (bit more of a hike), which is free to enter and a lot of things to look at, along with a cafe.

Any good as a start?
