HI, I'm going to Bristol with 2 girlfriends in JUly and looking for ideas of things to do, places to eat and drink and possdancing where a group of 3 40 something (though much younger at heart) women will not feel out of place?

Hi Michaelangelo. Try here visitbristol.co.uk/site/experience-bristol - brilliant site and covers everything you need. I really recommend heading to The Living Room - love it!!!

I am an apostate Bristolian.

Go to Bath instead.

...failing that, the harbourside and Clifton and downs are ok, particularly on a bright summer day.

Other than that, it's a bit of a shithole, really....

..to be a little more constructive, a good place to eat on the harbourside is River Station.

Not cheap, but very good quality and lovely river views...

www.lidobristol.com

Not tried it and there are varied reviews on the food in the restaurant but the spa stuff looks ok?

Thanks for the suggestions, we ar committed to Bristol now so Bath not an option I'm afraid!

Ah..forgot to mention..

The Camera Obscura

...it's an odd little tower, on a hill just above the suspension bridge.

But is wonderful.
