sorry for yet another post on DLP!! But desperately need some good advice. this will be our first hols with 4yr DD and we need to make every penny count! We are leaning towards a Disney hotel as want to be near the action. Thinking about 'Explorer'.

My DH has looked on line and we are booking flights from B'ham and then the hotel. We can also book our passes for DLP but it seems really expensive. We plan to go late June (so we have time to get the money together)!

Would we be better to buy our passes once we are there?

Please help!

I've not been for many years, but when we went the passes were included in the price if you stayed in one of the hotels on-site. Have you checked to see if they are included in the hotel price?

yes, if you book with disney then it is included. But we are trying to work out the cheapest way of doing it. When we price separatley the passes cost £368 for 3 days for 2 adults and 1 child (4yrs).

At the moment it looks like it is best to book the hotel with Disney direct. (now looking at Sante Fe magic cirucs) and the flights and transfers separatley.

Its so expensive - just want to make sure we are not wasting money and have made savings where ever we can!

We booked Ryanair flights, then did our own transfers. It's relatively easy by public transport. We booked a Disney hotel package, and I think we got one night free.

My moneysaving tip would be to eat at cafe at the on-site Metro station at lunchtime. Tasty sandwiches and half the price of the places in the site.

fantastic - great tips! I will book flights separately. I'm trying to find somewhere to get cheap passes for the parks but not having much luck. I think I will be better to book a hotel with passes included like you said. Thanks a million

Any other tips from mumsnetters gratefully received!

Unless you have accommodation with tickest included then the best place to get tickets is on the Disney site. Occasionally you can get discounts like they are doing 4 days for 3 or 15% off one day but that wouldn't help you.

Get the tickets with the hotel and you get into the park 2 hours early.

8am instead of 10am.

Then book breakfast in the park, in the Plaza Gardens Restaurant instead of Cherokee. Much nicer.

Cherokee is fine, basic but ok. You can walk to and from the park, only about 10 mins.

If you are booking tickets with Disney direct then go through Quidco as you'll also get cashback!
