Sensatori Tenerife?

Has anyone been since Thomson rebranded this hotel? There are no reviews on Tripadvisor which is a bit odd.

We're booked to go in May, and have booked a Junior Suite with private garden for myself, DH, DD1 (nearly 4) and DD2 (10 months). It's our first holiday abroad as a family so keen to know what we're letting ourselves in for.

However, turns out that the junior suite is just one big room with no separate sleeping area for the kids - so just wondering if anyone's been there, done that, and barely survived to live the tale If so we are thinking of upgrading to a 2 room suite when we get there.

Also - we've booked both the girls into the Nursery every morning - just wondering what that's like?

Brilliant, thanks Lisa for your help has really put my mind at ease as i was worried about the hotel and location after reading the negative reviews.

Thanks again for your help and if we need anyone to look after our little one whilst away i will definately drop you a line.

Niki

We had a garden suite, there wasn't a lot of room TBH just a sort of patio bit, then a Bali Bed but it never got any sun and we didn't really use the garden bit!

We booked it because we thought we'd need somewhere to sit when the girls were sleeping so we could have a drink etc. However, since we ended up with the girls staying up later, we tended to all go to bed at the same time!

Yes there's a kettle, and there's also a mini bar fridge - when you check in ask them to empty it for you and hey presto you have a fridge!!

We were transferred on a coach, no car seats there so we just sat with the baby on our lap.

Hi Lisa

I have been reading all the posts here and am trying to make sure everything is going to be ok for our holiday, as I am not happy with some of things I have been hearing.

We are travelling with our 5 year old and twins who are nearly 2, so it sounds like some things could be a bit of a problem. Not sure they will wait to til 6.30pm for dinner, they usually have it at 5, but hopefully they will have a nice long sleep in the afternoon and we can alter their current routine.

Anyway the reason for writing is to ask whether you could get in touch with me so that we can get a contact number for you to organise some babysitting if we need it whilst we are there. We are at the Sensatori from August 20th-Sept 3rd. Please kindly contact me at [email protected]

Thank you.

Can anyone tell me if they booked a Thomson baby pack for Sensatori and how many nappies were in it? The lady in the call centre didn't know Confused
Just worrying about weight! Off to Sensatori next week. Hope it's as good as the Crete one!

Lisa2 · 04/09/2010 01:10

Pauline, if you need nappies etc i live close to an iceland supermarket so can get you nappies, milk and wipes (pampers, aptimil, sma etc) if you are stuck and need more stock.
I willbe doing a couple of evenings work there in that time so if you need me to grab you anything just let me know.

Lisa.

Hiya

I know it's a few months since these reviews were posted but am interested to know where you found out the full board plus was being taken away.
It still appears on the main Sensatori pages for Tenerife but not when you put your booking requirements in.
Is this where you realised they are no longer offering the plus option, or have you had formal confirmation elsewhere?

Thanks

Mads

question for you sensatori experienced people:

thinking of tenerife for september/october but accommodation seems to be of the 4-of-us-in-one-room style which is not my preferred option. They are quoting me £6k supplement for a 2 bed apartment?

what were the sleeping arrangements?

also, is there any babysitting/sleepover club in the evenings

how far is it to the beach

thanks

Lisa2 · 04/02/2011 00:06

Hi there.
OK, now i dont know much about how much the different rooms are but i can input about the baches and the childcare.

The nearest beach will be playa san Juan which is about 7 minutes drive in a taxi.
Or if you go the other way you have Los Gigantes which is arounda 10 minute or so drive.

As for the childcare as far as i remember they have a sleepover once a week and the babysitting service was around 30 euros per hour and that is for a Spanish lady with minimum english vocab.

I have worked in this hotel many times and have heard this from various parents.
I hope this helps.

Hi twinterror

There is babysitting as part of the hotel but also as part of the Thomson kids club (evening session). This runs til 11pm or also a full sleepover for the older kids once a week.
You can book an evening session whilst you are there. We did it once with 9 month old DD and when we picked her up, the nursery staff were sitting peacefully with 6 snoring babies in their cots!
There isn't a beach near to the hotel it is a taxi ride.
There are different room types where you don't necessarily have to have a suite - if I were you I would look on the Gran Melia website as they have photos and layout on there.
Hope that helps. It's a lovely hotel.

I came across Sensatori Tenerife at www.travelmatch.co.uk/holidays/detail/sensatori-resort-guia-de-isora.html - they have a system so you can montior the prices so you can see when it's cheapest to go! they also have loads of info on what you can do there as well as the latest tripadvisor reviews. We've now booked and will let you know how it goes :o

Enjoy, I had such a lovely relaxing time there!
