Legoland - proof of age?

Hi,

We are thinking of going to Legoland in Windsor with our 5yrs old.

I note that it says on some rides proof of id such as passport would be needed such as on the driving school one. Does this mean if we have no photo id for our LO that they won't be able to go on that ride?

We've never been asked to show proof of age. They usually ask the child how old they are.

HTH.

agree with stinkyfeet. Your 5yo wont have any problems.

They let loads on that look quite a bit younger too, so long as they say they are over the age requirement!

You can hear lots of parents coaching their kids in the queue, "Now, how old are you again Boris?"

Talk about teaching kids to be honest!

They ask the child. Some rides are based on height and others on age. At 5 you will be ok IME. There is a driving school aged 3 -5 and one aged 6+, so you will be in aged 5. The diggers you need to be 3+ for, so again you are ok. I think everything else is height, and if you are more than 0.9m and with an adult you can go on almost everything.

I tried in vain to get DS2 to claim he was 3 for both the diggers and the driving school a week before he was actually 3. He was completed baffled by all this, and DS1 kept telling me that his brother's birthday was NEXT WEEK Mummy. The queues around us were completely entertained by the whole charade. By the time we got to the front of the driving school queue, DS2 claimed he was 68 (the biggest number he knew at the time) which was clearly not the case at all.....

DS2 would have been allowed to drive if I had been able to show a paid ticket for him. Of course I could not, because he was only 2 and did not need to pay.

Thanks for your responses ladies - know you would be able to clear the way and make sense of all the jargon on the site!

Well don't thik we'll have a problem with our 5yrs old telling people her age as she likes to compare how old she is against everyone else.

Not so keen on the fact that she regularly ask if I will be 100yrs soon but hey ho!

my dts lied very well yesterday so they could go on the Big Driving School! I was shocked at how convincing they were.

Mine are 5, but the school for 6+ is much better.

Lonicera · 08/04/2010 10:48

ha ha ds2 lied and said he was six to go on the Big driving school as well.

I just said to him, if you say you are six you can go on it. He did it perfectly
