Sunday lunch at the Crooked Billet in Stoke Row...with a toddler?

Having read all the good reviews about the Crooked Billet in Stoke Row we have booked a night away in Henley and Sunday lunch at the Crooked Billet. When I spoke to them, though, they said we couldn't use a high chair for 'health and safety reasons.' I'm now worried that it's going to be one of those places with tiny tables and no room to move between, where children are expected to not take up any room. If it's going to be like this we'd rather not go - can anyone advise?

Many thanks

No high chairs for health and safety reasons???? Wtf?

its quite small inside, with lots of little seated areas - it isnt one big open restaurant or bar.

I can understand about the high chairs, don't worry about it.

If its nice weather you could eat outside, its very quiet and calming - not on a busy road or any thing, down a quiet lane

It is a lovely pub with fab food BUT it is tiny and all higgldy piggldy layout with lots of chairs and tables crammed in (esp on a Sunday when they are really busy). We have been with a friends LO who took their own little booster chair thingy (don't know tech term sorry!) to put on a chair and it was fine though.
Second what Onlywantsone said about the outside it is lovely plenty of room for kids to run about if nice weather.
this place also does nice food though and is a bit more kid friendly www.thebullandbutcher.com/

Thanks so much for all the helpful replies - I really appreciate it. We'll take our clip-on high chair for the table so we don't get in anyone's way and I think perhaps try out the Bull and Butcher for dinner the night before!
