Ryanair - worth the discount?

Could I please trouble you for opinions on Ryanair? Have never flown with them, but this summer they are coming up over £200 cheaper for our flights compared with next best. Don't really like no frills, but if the general consensus is that they are ok, I will take the plunge. However, I do not want to run the risk of being stuck in a foreign airport with a 3yo, and dh saying "I told you so".....

I know a pilot and an aircraft maintenance supervisor and neither will allow any member of their family to fly Ryanair.

I've flown with them a few times and never had any problems, don't know whether we've just been really lucky. We flew with them to Gran Canaria in Feb with a 4 year old and 6 mo baby. We didn't pay for priority boarding , were one of the last to board the plane, and each time were shown to 3 seats together. Maybe they have heard about my children and realised noone else would put up with them for 4 1/2 hours Grin
