Flying to Oz

Hi, new to this but would appreciate some advice.

Next month I am flying to Oz with my 22mo. Cost of tickets is huge so we haven't got him a seat so he'll be on our laps the entire journey. Anyone have any advice??

what is worrying you, specifically?

Are you flying on your own with your child or will there be another adult with you? If you will have someone with you I would suggest the very back of the plane where there are two rows of 2 on either side of the middle 4. Those seats also have a "gap" between the inside seat and the window where you can dump extra stuff and you won't have anyone else sitting with you. They are not emergency rows so you can have them with a child. If you go for the back row there will be nobody behind you, but the space makes a nice area to stand/play in.

If you are flying on your own I would suggest the traditional "bassinet" row even if your child won't fit in them as that is where most people with little kids sit and it's near to the cabin crew service area for assistance.

Thanks very much! I'm sure it will be fine just nervous as haven't done it b4.

If you can at all afford it and they have availability book a seat. That is a heck of a way to go with a near 2 year old who can't sit in his own seat or lie stetched out.

It is indeed. My Mother just came over to visit us and on the flight home the plane was totally full, not an empty seat anywhere. At least if you are not on your own you will be able to pass him about a bit between you. I did it by myself and whilst it was not a barrel of laughs, it was do-able. Without my dh I meant, not 'by myself' I bloody wish

Have you picked your seats? That is the most important bit as sunnydelight says.
