And what about creams? Do they go in the hold?

Yes, put creams (particularly if they are over the 100ml) and stuff like that in the hold baggage. They'll get taken off you at the security checkpoint otherwise.

As for medicines make sure you have the GPs prescription with you.

Does it have to be a letter? or will the chemists stickre bit do?

It should be okay to have the chemist's label on it but I would put anything like this particularly if its over 100ml in your hold luggage. If it is essential for the flight and if its over 100ml then I would suggest you obtain a GPs letter.

The rules are pretty much the same as for brining meds to the UK - if they are prescription drugs they should be in the bottle in which you purchased them with the label made out to you.

If it's anything over 100mL in liquid you should contact the airline and see what you need to do.

My dad in the US has to take lots of drugs - hypertension and heart disease - and he buys his pills in bulk so they come in a large bottle.

Whenever he comes to the UK, his chemist happily makes up labels for smaller bottles.

He always brings them in his hand luggage and hasn't had a problem.

It's my tablets I'm worried about but it sounds like they should be fine
