Wales is lovely but extremely wet.

You could be lucky though....

Charlieandlola · 19/03/2010 17:20

Yes. Beautiful but v wet is how I would sum up all of Wales. Just seems to rain as soon as you go over offa's duke in my experience.

poutine · 19/03/2010 17:21

yes, it's pretty rainy.

having said that, a cottage in snowdonia at Easter sounds fantastic! especially if you like walking, climbing, etc.

Hullygully · 19/03/2010 17:21

oh god yes

pointydog · 19/03/2010 17:33

it's pot luck.

I spent one easter in snowdonia and it was as hot and dry as summer. ANother easter there was very cold but dry.

Where do you live though? Jersey? Sort of depends on your expectations, doesn't it.

Clayhead · 19/03/2010 17:34

Yes but also a very beautiful place!

coldtits · 19/03/2010 17:34

Llynn Peninsula not rainy at all, IMHO.

sunchild77 · 19/03/2010 17:40

I find its much like the rest of the UK, really beautiful when its sunny and dry, a bit grim when its cold, damp and drizzly.

All the luck of the draw really, you need a crystal ball to predict it.

Love North WAles
Holidayed lots as a child there
Unfortunately it does seem to rain a lot

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 19/03/2010 17:58

Yes, but it is so beautiful I would go anyway.

We went and in July and it rained an awful lot but there was so much to do and scenery was spectacular.

I really want to live there

RatherBeOnThePiste · 19/03/2010 18:04

you go over that bridge and it starts raining

dreamingofsun · 19/03/2010 21:35

i think you ought to look at the rainfall figures online. brecon, for example is megga high (though we had heatwave when we went) but pembrokeshire isn't that high - so varies quite a lot and i guess depends on teh mountains etc. think pembrokeshire is similar to south coast

cheeryface · 20/03/2010 11:01

i have seen a lovely cottage in
Llanrhaedr ym Mochnant oswestrey but thinking it may be a bit naff in the rain with 2 kids though

Mid Wales is very wet - especially during the autumn/winter months IME. Elsewhere in Wales IMO isn't much different to other areas of the UK.

saggyhairyarse · 20/03/2010 11:07

Never rained when we been to Pembrokeshire. Rained every day solid in Snowdonia in August.

Franniban · 20/03/2010 15:12

Sadly, I have the same experience of Snowdonia, last August, so wet we came home half way through the week, to warm and hot weather at home. Very beautiful though
