I will be there with a friend, my DS1 (8yo) and his DS2 (9yo) on Saturday morning. We are going for an event in the afternoon but have decided to make a day of it, as we have a fair distance to travel and want to make sure we are in good time for the afternoon event.

So, what can we do in the morning that the boys will enjoy and that preferably doesn't cost too much?

Boys of that age will love and adore HMS Belfast. Its about £9 for adults, kids free.

HMS Belfast, London Dungeon, The Clink Museum are all good.

Or The Golden Hind www.goldenhinde.com/, you can have a wander around Borough Market and a pint in the Thameside. Just a little further on from The Golden Hinde there are the reliable/child friendly Pizza Express, Nandos, Wagamamas for lunch.

To be honest just a walk along the South Bank looking at the boats is nice.

Or head over Tower Bridge to the Tower of London and check out the yachts in St Catherine's Dock. Or you can go for a boat ride up the Thames - we used to get the boat from the Tower up to Greenwich, although you might not have time for that.

Borough Market of course - could eat there
