Do babies need a passport for an internal flight?

Have heard that they do but nobody at stansted seemed to know!

Depends on the airline - you usually need it for proof of identity. It should be on any booking information? /T&C's - do it online and get to the page before you pay!

i think they do. from what i remember we had to use it on a belfast to birmingham flight as he had to have photo id. that was with bmibaby.

Definately think it depends upon the airline. I have travelled with both my sons on internal flights in the Uk, up to the age of 1 year, on the basis of their birth certificate alone.

They certainly don't with easyjet. When we fly from Edinburgh to Stansted we are not asked for any proof of identity for our boys aged 3 and 1.

No never used it with easyjet - best to phone and check as they'll use any excuse to bump you

Ryanair require passports on all flights and they won't let you fly without one.
