Long haul flights with a baby

Hello,

In a few months we are heading home to the UK after a year in Australia. We had our first child while in Oz and now have to figure out how to get him home. I am guessing that the flights will be hideous and involve lots of crying and apologetic glances at other passengers. Does anyone have any advice regarding how to handle such a long journey with a young baby?

In particular we can't decide whether it would be best to just try and get it over with as quickly as possible (short stop-overs / direct flights) or split it up with an overnight stop....

Thanks!

PS Our little one will be 5 and a half months old when we travel.

As long as you are seen to be making an effort you should nto get the glares from some other pax who you will never see again anyway.

Having done this same journey I'd break it up in Singapore. You really do not want to spend the better part of two days on a plane without fresh air, a meal and a bed if you can help it. I saw those pax who chose to not break their journey back to the UK and some of them looked pretty rough mainly because of jetlag.
