Hello mummyofexcitedprincesses. Can I politely bombard you with lots of nosy questions What sort of budget do you have? Are you happy to go abroad? What countries would you consider or dismiss? How far would you fly? Do you want all-inclusive beach hotel with kids club, waterslides etc or city break with cultural sight-seeing, or camping/mobile home in France or on the shores of Lake Garda, or a villa holiday, or a safari, or a Florida theme park type holiday, or a UK farm holiday, or French gite, or family friendly cruise, or a boating holiday on the Norfolk broads, or an apartment/self catering break with car hire to explore the local area (here or abroad), or a Centerparcs break here or in Europe, or a holiday (by ferry?) to Jersey, Guernsey, Ireland or Corsica, or a cottage in North Wales or Devon or beautiful Yorkshire? ... just some random ideas there but, more importantly, what do you and your dp and dds enjoy doing on holiday?

... and to answer your question we are going to Turkey in July!

Sardinia - staying on an agrotourism, (olive plantation with a cottage and pool) Can't wait!

Cape Verde Islands this year.

Usually go to Bali with a few days in Hong Kong or Singapore on route.

My kids have loved Bali - people unbelievably friendly and adore children and great for them to experience different cultures. Well worth the long jouney.

For the past two summers we have been to Greece. Think we'd probably like to go non-Euro this year but have no idea where - will probably end up in Cornwall, having said that!

mummyofexcitedprincesses · 02/03/2010 21:24

The problem is DH and I can't agree. I want to go to Croatia or somewhere similar but he fancies Turkey. I think it will be too hot. We have about £2500 to spend which seems a lot but isn't for August.

We like relaxing and need a pool or nice beach, but also like exploring places. Neither of us wants to drive.

We had a lovely time im Mallorca last year but the Euro is not very favourable at the moment. It has to be August as we can only get time off work then.

We are going to Turkey in August, it is costing us about £1,350 for 2 adults and two children, flights and self catering accomodation. It usually works out cheaper to book flights and accomodation seperately.

It does get hot in August but not so much hotter than other mediteranean countries. turkey is a very child friendly country, the Turksih people are very friendly and they love children so you will be well looked after.

It is better value out there than anywhere in the eurozone at the moment, eating out can be very reasonable.

We usually go near Bodrum, there are some lovely resorts there and it is a great place to go exploring.

I hope you find something nice for your holiday

mummyofexcitedprincesses · 04/03/2010 19:34

Turkey it is, 5 star all inclusive, great reviews, 2 weeks for £560 each. Not a bad deal at all.

Sounds good! Have a great time

Ooh mummyofexcitedprincesses sounds lovely...can I be rude enough to ask whereabouts and which hotel that is? Have a lovely time.

mummyofexcitedprincesses · 07/03/2010 11:47

We are going to Ephesia Holiday Beach Club, Kusadasi. Not to be confused with the less lovely Ephesia Hotel apparently.

We booked through your holidays, they are very competitive. We used them last year for Mallorca and got such a good deal I was terrified it wasn't going to be a real holiday and that we were being scammed, but I always check things on Trip Advisor too, they give detailed reviews by real people, not always good ones, but always useful.

All booked now, can't wait!
