Hello

am looking for ideas for a holiday in Italy with my dh and dd who will be 8 months old. I don't really mind where - thinking maybe tuscany. I like the look of villa pia but the one thing that puts me off is that you are expected to eat dinner communally with baby in room via a baby intercom - which I wouldn't want to do. Any ideas v v welcome (am in desp need of a holiday!!)

thanks in advance x

Lots of self catering stuff in Tuscany - have you looked at Simply Travel.

here

You'll need a car though. The place is lovely, however, dinner is late for english standards.

We're going to Hotel Vannucci in Citta della Pieve. The hotel does look lovely and Citta is a heavenly little town in Umbria with plenty of places to eat at all times of day.I guess you could trundle in with the buggy. Also stayed at Villa Castellani near Macerata where the hosts were really lovely and I bet would look after you well. Both these areas are fantastic for touring round - we have such happy memories. I never went to hotels with our boys as babies but I guess you have to be flexible and not worry if the routine is different from home.

the Delphina group have some lovely hotels in Sardinia, some of which are very child friendly. We stayed at Cala di Falco when dd was 15 months old. Food was fab. Beaches are gorgeous.

PS we stayed in the residence, 2 rooms with a kitchenette, but had breakfast every day in the hotel, then ate in the restaurant or in town. Handy to have access to kitchen with a small child, but didn't do any cooking...
