Would you pay extra for better flight times?

I've been trawling looking for good flights to Malaga from Scotland.

Easyjet prices are soooooooo expensive - but good timings to get us there for lunchtime - so can use facilities for half a day - whereas the cheaper ones don't get us there till 9 at night.

We are paying a lot of money for 2 nights in a resort before moving onto a friends house for a week. So I feel like we should get there early to make the most of the price.

But the flights are £250 in total more than Ryanair.

Is this too much to pay?

£250 for an extra afternoon and happy kids? i'd do it personally.

plus easyjet will give you priority boarding but i think ryanair will force you to join the general scrum?

I would definitely pay extra to avoid inconvenient times when flying with small children if possible but it sort of depends on whether you have the money.

The thing that would swing it for me would be that not only would we arrive too late to do anything but that ds would be exhausted (and thus cranky and impossible) if we didn't arrive until 9pm

Is the 9pm arrival, arrive at the airport or the resort, if at the airport I would really say it was mega inconvenient as by the time you land, get luggage and arrive at destination it will be very very late.

No 9pm at the resort. or I can get a mid way one that gets us to the airport at 5pm - but means an hour and a halfs drive to Edinburgh first.

KIDS IN THE MED TRAVEL AGENCY (PART OF W&O TRAVEL) ARE A BUNCH OF THEIVING CON MEN!

I paid a lot extra to get day flight times and have just been told that my flights have been changed. Thing is, my flight is still going at the same time, but me, my husband and 3 children have been 'subject to a schedule change' and now our flight NOW leaves at 11.30 and gets in early hours the next moring.

Apparently I can still travel on my original flight, but it will cost me - ready for this - ANOTHER £410!

They say I can only accept the new flight, pay more for my original flight or cancel and loose my massive deposit (more than half the cost of the holiday - apparently needed to secure the flights). I went to a supposedly family friendly company - Kids in the Med (part of W&O Travel) are a bunch of thieving con men (and I am sorry to say women).

I am trying to do something about it, but but it looks like they are a law among themselves. Imagine this happening in any other market place. Anyone got any suggestsions?

yes, definitely!!!

have you looked at BA? i know theirs seem more upfront, but at least you get food and a baggage allowance included!
