What am I doing wrong. Every time I look at this and try and put in dates it's always around £1000. I want to go by train, stay in a hotel close to the park, 2 days 3 nights for 2 adults and 1 child.
It must be possible to do it cheaper. How tell me?

I've looked at the other threads but they haven't helped.

Do I have to accept this and ignore fact could go away for a week in the sun for this amount of money??

Can you stay in the holiday inn in Paris and catch the train there? Have you tried the Disneyland Paris web site rather then a tour operator? The adult prices are more expensive but the childrens ones are alot cheaper, I think some are free at the moment so it may work out to be less then 1K. The davey crocket ranch is the cheapest IIRC.

It's a rip off IMO.

the £1000 is from the disney website. I looked at some of the non-disney hotels which were near and they seemed to be the same price. I'm shocked but I know my dd would love it.

Hi Mercedes
We've stayed at the Davy Crocket Ranch a few times - the Sante Fe and some of the others can be cheaper, but the big attraction for me is that the accommodation there is 2 bedroom mobile homes with a leisure complex and huge pool in the main village. This means DD can have a swim, and then go to bed, and I can sit on the porch and drink a nice glass of wine!

Our last trip Sept 2009, cost £321 for 2 adults and 1 child for 3 nights, with 4 days tickets to the parks. We flew, but Easyjet flights from scotland were only about £150 and then another £65 for car hire as you need one at Davy Crocket.

Disney have a weird pricing policy, e.g. you can sometimes arrive a day earlier, and stay an exra night and pay less. If you want a good deal, I think Sep is a good time, as weatehr is still warm, and less crowded too. But the main thing is to look at the deals on the website, eg when they are offering free child places, and then to literally get lots of prices for different dates..

We also went in May last year - and got a simliar good deal - but it was far busier, and the queues were a pain. Over all though, I think Disney is good value, and DD loves it.

Hope you find a good deal - have fun!

They seem to do it to make it max inconvenient, but I now I know it is poss to get a better deal, I just feel determined and sepnd an hour or so playing with different dates.

oh yes - have you subscribed to the Disney mailing list - not sure if they advertise the same stuff on their website, but it was certainly all the tempting offers that got us there again last Sept, having only been in May!

You can do it cheaper if you go out of school holidays, or if you book the parks seperately, and then stay locally in different accomodation.

We stayed at Davy Crockett as we prefer self catering and the extra space. Was nice and plenty close enough.

But I do think DLP is expensive, even when compared with Florida and the parks - only think making the cost lower than Florida is often the length of time you go for.

We were thinking of going in March and by eurostar but I suppose we could use our tesco vouchers to get us over in the eurotunnel and then look at d crok ranch

Blimey, you could go to Disney in Orlando for that!

Mercedes · 14/01/2010 21:42

Its seriously just a case of watching for offers and buying at the time

We are booked to fly from Glasgow in March.. we are staying 4nights 5 days and we are getting all our meals free for approx £500 .. we are 2 adults and child as well

happy hunting for the right deal

Stay here www.explorershotels.com/

Very nearby, kids loved it and has a great swimming pool for chilling out in after a day at park. It's about ten mins iirc on the free shuttle bus to DLP.It's besides some of the Disney hotels.

They also do a huge buffet breakfast to set you up for the day. (Plenty of people set themselves up for the whole day from what I could see, practically packing picnic lunches from what was on offer and bring it into the parks with them)

Also we bought our tickets the first time at the gates. They checked all options to see what was cheaper and we ended up with annual passes . Meant we had to go back of course so maybe wan't such a saving...

we have been 3 times - the first time we went we paid about 1000 but went for 4 nights 5 days. 2 years ago we went as we found a bargain - approx £500 for us all (2 adults, 3dc) then we went last sept £600 4 nights, 5 days with 4 dc, we drove and ferry cost us £30 return. Each time we have stayed at Davy crockett - we love it.
