Where can we stay in the W13 area? B&B's or hotels

We have an invitation to a 'grown-up' party this Saturday up in London in W13 - (without children.)

Can anyone reccommend a nice hotel or B&BN where we can crash for the night? Other wise it'll be tossing a coin to see who drives back home at 1 in the morning!!

Hi,

Would strongly suggest you look at www.tripadvisor.com and type in London W13 for hotel reviews.

Am sorry I cannot be of more help but tripadvisor do come up with the goods re hotels and what they are really like.

Puff · 04/07/2005 19:15

It's not a great area for hotels and B&B Finbar, so I'd recommend going for one of the chain hotels, like The Ramada Encore , it's on the A40.

Where is W13?

Puff · 06/07/2005 20:13

honestly cod, it ain't hot on hotels round these parts! Lots of dodgy b&b's tho'.

Janh · 06/07/2005 20:14

There is a hotel by Ealing Common tube called the Caernarvon (I think)

Puff · 06/07/2005 20:15

Yes, been to a few work meetings there - it's ok.

fishfinger · 06/07/2005 20:16

what about a hotela s hort hop away?
she has a nice weekedn away from her kids I wnat her to go somewhere nice

Janh · 06/07/2005 20:17

Can't find the Caernarvon but The Ramada might be it!

(We used to live round the corner from Ealing Common tube)

Puff · 06/07/2005 20:17

Obviously more choice further into town.

flashingnose · 06/07/2005 20:18

Would she be prepared to drive down the A40 for a while?

bluebear · 06/07/2005 20:18

I live in the area and all I can think of is the travellodge's at Hangar Lane and Brentford - it really is a useless area for hotels!

fishfinger · 06/07/2005 20:19

i wiill make her

Janh · 06/07/2005 20:21

Found it - Carnarvon (they can't spell) and it's W5, not W13, but is right next.

fishfinger · 06/07/2005 20:22

ok ta all
what a grim soudning night away thoggh!

Janh · 06/07/2005 20:22

SofiaAmes is your woman here, she lives another half mile in, in W4.

Janh · 06/07/2005 20:24

Oh it is the Ramada anyway ( "Jarvis Carnarvon" takes you to "Ramada Jarvis") - looks boring but OK.

flashingnose · 06/07/2005 20:25

I'd drive out a bit - much more promising.

Janh · 06/07/2005 20:29

B&Bs in W5 this website doesn't cover W13 apparently. (W5 is Ealing Common, W13 is Ealing Broadway)

Puff · 06/07/2005 20:32

What about The Petersham Hotel in Richmond?

I thought she wanted something really close - need a cab for this one, but it's lovely, been for afternoon tea and dinner a few times.

Janh · 06/07/2005 20:35

Some of those W5 addresses are nearer Ealing Broadway tube than Ealing Common. (We used to live there too - in Grange Park, and in Churchfield Rd which is just off S Ealing Road - it featured in Monty Python more than once)(irrelevant information but thought I'd throw it in )

foxinsocks · 06/07/2005 20:39

The Ramada is probably the closest - it's not really an area for hotels! There are a few Travel Inns and Travelodges around that area. If you go for a Travelodge, ask for a family room - the beds are king size and are actually really comfy!

If you're looking for something a bit more swish, you'll either have to come in a bit towards west london or out a bit further.

bluebear · 06/07/2005 20:42

W5 is Ealing Broadway rather than Ealing Common - W13 is West Ealing/Northfields.....not that that helps since I still can't think of anywhere really nice.
