Kelly's Hotel in Rosslare

Has anyone stayed at this hotel with children? My mother has stayed here years ago, but with adults only in the party.

She has been trying to persuade us to go for years, but I am not sure about kid's clubs etc. The website is ambiguous.

Dh has always dragged his feet because they require men to wear jacket and tie at dinner. He believes that if he is paying huge quantities of money he should be able to decide whether or not to wear a tie, and that customers should be treated as adults.

Our dd's are 6 and 9 and are too young to eat dinner with us (according to hotel). Does anyone know if there is night time supervision or would we have to

(a) hire a baby sitter or
(b) allow our children to run riot while we eat

They are too old to be put to bed on baby listening!

Any other recommendations for hotels in Ireland with kid's clubs would be welcome.

I think this is the place that various of my colleagues swear by (I live in Dublin); I have a feeling that SIL and DN went there last year. IN Georgina Campbell though it seems to suggest that there's some kind of child quota, which seems a bit off-putting - will ask and post

The Skellig in Dingle has a good reputation. There is a fancy one in Wicklow which my sister has stayed in - will see if I can find the name.

Sorry, not Wicklow, think it was the Ferrycarrig in Wexford.

I had my wedding reception in the Ferrycarrig!

My cousin stayed in Kelly's in Rosslare recently, on her own with kids. She didn't mention not being to eat with them at dinner, though. It is a lovely place for kids, there is a nice swimming pool and it's right on the beach.
Dh and I had dinner there one evening while staying with my Mum but we went in in our beach-walking gear! We weren't kicked out but my Mum was that we had dared to darken the door of Kelly's in anything less than our haute couture!

We stayed in the Quality Hotel Clonakilty in September with a 10 month old and 3 year old.

It is very child-friendly, has a cinema in the grounds, jungle gym(supervised) in the hotel, pool, gym, cafe and also things for older kids in a teen zone such as video games, limited internet access.

It is aimed at families so most people will have kids with them so should be no problem in the restaurants.
