Best airlines for mums flying alone with infants

Just wondering if anybody has any particular recommendations for budget airlines flying between England and Spain that are friendly and helpful towards mums travelling alone with under 4s? I've got two little boys and they can be a handful alone... not forgetting my hand luggage and laptop!

TBH, none of the budget ones!

I flew to France with ds1 aged 2.5 with RyanAir, they were awful.

I flew to Switzerland with ds1 aged 5 months, they were even worse! Made me wait for the buggy until I got to the luggage carousel (which at Geneva is a long way from the planes). If it wasn't for the help of kind strangers I would never have managed.

However, flew BA with ds1 aged 6 months to Belguim and they were great. Buggy waiting at door of plane, free baby food.

I think you have to account for the fact that the only people who help you as a woman alone with small children is either from old people or men with children!

Flying with young children on budget airlines is really hard now. I have travelled several times with Ryanair and the only thing I can say for them is they let you take the buggy right up to he steps, then collect it straight off the plane. That does make things a tad easier.

It may well be an idea to forget about hand luggage and just pay the £30 to check a suitcase in. Just means you are then down to handbag, buggy and a hand to hold the eldest.

Easyjet is better than RyanAir. Easyjet will let the families with small children board after their Speedyboarder but before general boarding. Ryanair will just leave you in the crush.

A full services airline with guaranteed seating together and letting you board first would have its advantages.

ThomasCook airlines were very good when DD and I went to Cyprus, I rang the seat pre booking line and they allocated me one of the seats with a bit more room (not extra leg room) they also asked the airline crew to "look out" for me, and they were marvellous. I was able to take the buggy right to the steps too.
